Sri Purandara Dasa International Trust, a respected organisation in the world of Carnatic music, presented a portrait to Rajini. Rajinikanth is depicted as Saint Purandara Dasa in the portrait. This is regarded as very prestigious honour in the world of music. Normally Sri Purandara Dasa Trust conducts Guru Vandana programme every year and honours a person who has contributed to Carnatic music.
