The two were closeted for 25 minutes and were believed to have discussed the Telangana issue.
Nadendla’s meeting with Sonia Gandhi attained importance in the back drops of reports about the Congress High Command taking a decision to create Telangana.
The speaker earlier in the day met the union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. He has reportedly submitted a report on the Telangana issue.
It is learnt that the Congress party has been looking into the need to have the Assembly pass a resolution and it is in this regard that Nadendla Manohar was reportedly called to the capital. Manohar met the AICC general secretary and state party incharge Digvijay Singh on Wednesday.
The High Command is reportedly discussing about the support the resolution on Telangana might get in the Assembly and the possibility of the Seemandhra legislators of the party opposing it.
