Vijaya Sai is threatening witnesses
New Delhi : CBI lawyer Ashok Bhan has on Wednesday presented arguments on the agency’s petition seeking cancellation of auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy’s bail in the disproportionate assets case of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. He told the court that it was Vijaya Sai Reddy who played a key role in getting investments into Jagan’s companies.
Ashok Bhanu charged the auditor of threate3ning the investors. He said he threatened a cement factory owner in AP and got investment of Rs. 5 crore. He asked that the bail of the auditor, second accused in the assets case be cancelled in view of the seriousness of the case. He said that Vijaya Sai was influencing the witnesses and would even threaten them if left outside. He argued that he got bail on incoherent causes.
Stating that the high court has earlier sanctioned bail to Vijaya Sai as the chief accused Jagan was not arrested by then, he added that it was not a reasonable cause for sanctioning the bail. The CBI lawyer also charged Vijaya Sai of impeding the investigation and added that the agency got evidence to state that he had threatened the companies that would have given evidence.
The CBI counsel complained that it was because of the interference of Vijaya sai Reddy that the investigation was getting delayed. After listening to the arguments, the court posted the case to Thursday, when the arguments would continue.
