New Delhi : The Supreme Court has on Tuesday posted the bail petition of YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for hearing to April 29.

Lawyers of Jagan have putforth their arguments before the Apex Court on Tuesday. They urged the court to give notice to the CBI on their bail petition. However, CBI objected to this argument. The agency’s counsel asked for one more day’s time. With this, the Supreme Court initially posted the bail petition of Jagan to April 30. As the petitions of Nimmagadda Prasad and Vijaya Sai Reddy were also scheduled to be heard on that day, the court said it would hear Jagan’s case also the same day. Jagan’s lawyers objected to this, stating that if all the three cases were heard on the same day, judgment in one case would have effect on the other. They also pointed out that in the cases of Vijaya Sai Reddy and Nimmagadda Prasad, notices were already issued to the CBI. Responding to their plea, the court posted Jagan’s bail plea to April 29.

The court also told Jagan’s lawyers that notices could be issued to the CBI only after hearing arguments on Jagan’s bail petition. The court made it clear that notices could not be issued without hearing arguments.
