Stage actress and model Shazahn Padamsee,daughter of noted theatre personality Alyque Padamsee and singer Sharon Prabhakar,is back in Tollywood.The actress will romance Ram Pothineni on the big screen in the Telugu remake of the BollywoodblockbusterBolBachchan.The movie also has Venkatesh and Anjali in prominent roles.
Shazahn made her debut in Tollywood in 2010 in Orange opposite Ram Charan.The movie did not perform well at the box office,but fetched her instant name and fame.But for reasons best known to her,Shazahn did not pursue her career in Tollywood and she went back to her Mumbai theatre circuit despite getting multiple offers from Telugu film-makers.
Meanwhile,she acted in three Hindi films Dil To Bachcha Haiji (2011),Housefull 2,and The Dirty Dozen (2012) and the yet-to-be released Disco Valley.Her selection of movies is very strange.She is not an actress who is in pursuit of numbers.Ifsheiscomfortableandfinds time from her busy theatre schedule,shethenagreestoactinamovie.Shewas happy to act in this particular film,which has multiple stars, a birdie from the industry tells us.
Apparently,Shazahn had liked Bol Bachchan and did not think twice when theproducersapproachedherfortheTelugu version.Though the remake is a bit tweaked,the character to be played by Shazahn is untouched from the original.Shes very keen on reprising the role playedbyAsinintheoriginalversion.So,we havent made any changes to that character, a friend of producer Sravanti Ravi Kishore,who is making the Telugu version,points out.
Well-known director Vijay Bhaskar has been chosen to direct the Telugu version.The film will be shot over a 45-day schedule and released in August.As it is a remake project,it happens to be one of the movies completed in quickest time in Tollywood.
