Starting out as a child artiste in South Indian movies, Sridevi went on to become one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood.

After conquering South Indian film industry, she entered Bollywood as a child artiste in Julie. Later she debuted as a leading lady in Solva Sawan.

Born on August 13, 1963, this South Indian beauty won over critics and masses with her memorable performances in films like Sadma, Himmatwala, Mr India and Khuda Gawah.

While Sridevi worked with all the leading male actors of her time, her most successful pairing was with her brother-in-law Anil Kapoor.

Sridevi moved away from the limelight after her marriage to producer Boney Kapoor in 1996 and the actress recently made her comeback with Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish after 15 long years.

The actress was recently honoured with a Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian Cinema.
