After Aamir Khan, Salman appeals for Sarabjit’s release

New Delhi, Jun 29: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan appealed to Pakistan for the release of Sarabjit Singh, who is currently lodged in the country’s jail.

“Wanted to tweet this for the longest time, saw a pic of surabjeets sister, it Killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me help her,” read his tweet.

“It would be the most amazing  gesture, to send surabjeet back to his family after 30 years. Hope u support me like its your own cause …B a part of 1 family’s happiness. (sict),” his tweets followed.

“Request to the awam of pakistan, member’s of the press, govt of pakistan, president zardari, a humble request, (sic),” read the tweet.

The tweet comes after Pakistan did a flip flop on Sarabjit Singh’s release.

Earlier reports emerged that Pakistan would free Sarabjit Singh. This was, however, clarified by the Pakistani presidential spokesman, who said the authorities had ordered the release of Surjeet Singh and not Sarabjit.

Meanwhile, Talking about Sarabjit, Surjeet Singh, who reached India on Thursday after 31 years, he said that he was doing fine.

“He is not facing any problems there. He is fine. I used to see him on a weekly basis in the prison,” said Surjeet.

“I hope he is released soon,” he said.

Talking about the confusion over the release of Sarabjit, Surjeet said, “All this happened due to spelling mistakes as in Urdu language the spelling of Surjeet and Sarabjit are almost similar.”
